How To Throw An Unforgettable Garden Party!

With the Bank holiday on it’s way, we’re crossing our fingers in hope of sunshine and will be celebrating the last of the three day weekends with a glorious garden party.
Our resident party planner Uzma gives us some tips on how to make a memorable garden party for all your friends and family to enjoy.
TAILOR THE MENU
For summer get togethers I love to serve seasonal vegetables on mismatched platters
to create an informal, fresh feeling and to help the conversation flow as different dishes are
passed around the table.
SET THE SCENE
Long tables laden with mismatched antique crockery and vintage silver cutlery will always look chic.
If possible, add flowers straight from your garden; “it sets a charming, relaxed tone for the event” say’s Simon Gooch, founder of Fjura interviewed by vogue.com this summer.
Opt for wow factor and keep the table long and low by reusing crates and covering with your favourite linens.
Follow our pink gin cocktail recipe:
Add the gin and lemonade, and top with the prosecco.
Garnish with edible flowers.

STATEMENT FLORALS
If the temperature drops, get your summer fashion fix in the form of a pretty butterfly or
floral sweatshirt.
UZMA’S TOP THREE TIPS
- Ensure your best friends are on hand to help you prepare and keep the arrangements relaxed. A breakfast invite is always a good way to ensure that they arrive early so you can have fun preparing the party & getting ready together.
- For very special occasions, consider catering so that you can enjoy the party alongside your guests rather than stuck in the kitchen. Our favourite restaurant The Star And Garter provided a bespoke menu for most recent soiree.
- Mismatched cushions scattered across the lawn creates informal seating and makes for a stylish but relaxed affair. I also keep blankets at the ready so guests can stay warm as the sun sets and the temperature drops.
