Meet Ethical Collection’s Founder, Giovanna.

Ethical Collection London is an eco-luxury online boutique that curates a collection of some of the finest ethical products from designers and artisans around the globe,  empowering us all to choose beautiful, sustainable items, made with passion and a conscience.

What you love about working with ethical brands?

There is a real sense of community within sustainable fashion – not just a connection with the brands we work with but also from others in the industry – there isn’t a sense of competition like in other areas, but rather a genuine sense that we are all trying to grow the movement and make a difference to consumer choices. And the reality is that we all make choices that impact the environment and our communities – these choices can be positive and they can be very negative, so working with ethical brands is really about trying to promote better choices.
By sourcing amazing product, we like to think that everyone wins and it is very important to us that we can run our business with a clear conscious.

Give us a new season guide – what are your must haves for the new season or for Christmas gifts…

I have always believed that fashion should be fun, timeless and not pay too much attention to fast trends!
We obviously have some amazing Uzma products – our favourite is the Cotton Teddy Coat and the Gemini Sweatshirt.
For sustainable stocking fillers (from Ethical Collection of course!) we can’t go passed the pompom keyrings and our beautiful Cocolux candles – organic by nature, coconut wax is derived straight from the raw coconut flesh as is hand poured in a sustainable production process free from toxins, pesticides and the need for deforestation.

Ethical Collection’s HQ is in London, tell us about your favourite places…

I love Notting Hill, and my favourite place for coffee has to be the very charming Pedlars café – they serve delicious all press coffee, it has a great vibe, a wonderful selection of vintage collectibles and the staff are simply lovely.
For brunch, I think Snaps and Rye on Golbourne Road is amazing – delicious and wholesome fresh danish food and has a very cute ambiance. I have so many favourites among stall holders on Portobello  – what an amazing market, and being on Portobello everyday makes you appreciate the hard work, sweat and tears that goes into it.

You mustn’t forget to visit the market- I think markets are such a wonderful opportunity to connect with people! I highly recommend visiting Tom the Mushroom Man – anything Tom doesn’t know about mushrooms isn’t worth knowing, and what a marvellous section! For a delicious red wine or aperol spritz it has to be Negozio Classica on Portobello, warm and cosy atmosphere and perfect for people watching.
