Where will you be going?

All this sunshine has got the Uzma Bozai team inspired to travel… and Elle magazine isn’t helping to quench our wanderlust!
However, with Editor in Chief, Lorraine Candy heading down to Cornwall for a splash of surfing, for now we’ll be content heading towards the water too!
Where will you be inspired to travel to this year?

The Great outdoors…

Leafing through the June issue of Vogue, we couldn’t help but notice the small number of features about our beloved Cornwall - Small but perfectly formed!

We cant help but feel that those at Vogue are readying themselves for a summer of festival frivolities interspersed with gently relaxed get aways along the Cornish coast.

Designers and Retailers Toast Brits in Paris

Following a beautiful reception at the Ambassadors residence in Paris during Paris Fashion Week, Uzma Bozai’s Sales Manager Karen Wright has been quoted in Women’s Wear Daily in an article commenting on the importance of British designers attending Paris Fashion Week.

FLYING THE FLAG: Britain’s Ambassador to France, Sir Peter Ricketts, threw open a gilded ballroom at his sumptuous Paris residence on Thursday evening for a reception celebrating British designers in Paris.

London talents including Christopher Kane, Richard Nicoll, Erdem Moralioglu, Anya Hindmarch, Mary Katrantzou and Stephen Jones attended the event, organized by U.K. Trade & Investment, in partnership with the British Fashion Council and the U.K. Fashion and Textile Association.

They were joined by retail executives including Printemps chairman and chief executive officer Paolo de Cesare; Karen Katz, president and and ceo of the Neiman Marcus Group, and Bergdorf Goodman’s Linda Fargo.

In keeping with the evening’s theme, guests nibbled on English cheeses and drank Nyetimber sparkling wine. “I hope anyone who is French here who has been drinking, thinking, ‘What a wonderful glass of Champagne,’ is now feeling a bit guilty to find it’s British,” Ricketts said to laughter from the crowd.

Karen Wright, sales manager at fledgling brand Uzma Bozai, said it was showing at the MeMy Mode trade show for its second season at retail.

“For the international buyers, we prefer Paris,” she said. “We’re a very young label, so obviously we wanted to direct our costs and our time and our efforts where we found the most rewards.”

LFW street styles we love A/W 2013/14

As expected, the styles on the street of London Fashion Week did not disappoint over the weekend. Check out our pinterest board (http://pinterest.com/uzmabozai/fw-street-styles-we-love/) to keep an eye on what we are simply loving.
With a slightly more casual aesthetic on the streets this season, sports lux and crisp, button down shirts seem to be calling the sweater and the statement jacket to the fore.
Monochrome has been producing cool looks with colour popping out through oversized envelope style clutches and clever colour blocking.
As expected, shopping was a must for us this weekend, and no doubt, the desire will still be with us this evening as we keep you updated with our pick of the seemingly progressively sharpened looks from the streets.
We say keep the colour popping as the peeping February sunshine starts to evoke spring time vibes.

LFW A/W2013

Is anyone else pining for London right now?
Having spent the last few hours glued to the internet (for work, HONESTLY!!) we’re on tenter hooks waiting to see what our fellow Brit designers have been up to.

Reports of head scarves at Eduon Choi are right up our street as here in Cornwall we are beavering away at our Paris campaign. (Keep an eye out as we get ready to launch it next week!)

Right now though, we’re loving Elle’s coverage of off duty models. A weekend of eager blog watching will ensue as we eagerly await not just the collections but the street style we are sure to love too!
Something tells me we’re going to want to go shopping STAT! Good job the S/S collection will be arriving soon, an in house update will be perfect for the new season!

We hope you enjoy LFW!

Autumn Winter 2013/14 Photoshoot

Excinting days for the UB team- Monday saw us pulling the A/W 13/14 collection together for our A/W lookbook. With dramatic pre-shoot stunts by our model and the whole set on tenterhooks awaiting the immanent arrival of baby Bozai, the shoot wasn’t without its obstacles, however, for the laughs, creativity and beauty that unfurled, it was definitely worth it! Here is a sneak peek behind the scenes of the day.
With photos filtering in throughout the day, today finds us with the task of shortlisting the images ready for the lookbook.
Big thanks to all that worked so hard to pull everything together.

We’re so excited to be able to share the new collection with you,

Paris Fashion Week

Shim Shim Chére!

Today Paris Fashion Week was shimmering with iridescent pastel and neutral colours.
All wrapped up like blushing bonbons, a sweet tooth might help to digest these sweet offerings, however, strong, contemporary cuts keeps Barbie at bay.

Uzma Bozai invites you to MeMy Mode, Paris.

Uzma Bozai would like to invite you to view our Spring Summer 2013 collection at MeMy Mode in Paris from the 28th September – 1st October 2012. You’ll discover the collection’s delicate fabric, intricate stitch, bold patterns and rich texture – drawn from a mosaic of cultures and reimagined for today’s world.

Handmade by artisans in India, ancient techniques carried across the centuries bring haute couture quality to each garment in this contemporary collection. Each visual story highlights a specific ancient technique; from the purity of a white on white Chikan work maxi dress through to the Zardozi metallic beadwork collar of a printed jacket – each garment has its own unique lineage.

We’ll look forward to welcoming you at the Bourse de Commerce, 2 Rue Viarmes, 75001, Paris.
